Edward Eugene Coleman

Edward Eugene Coleman of Boydton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was a retired farmer and postal clerk.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas C. and Annie Lina Rogers Coleman; his sisters, Virginia Coleman Watkins Haga, Margaret Coleman Sanders, and Nell Rose Coleman; and his brothers, Howard David Coleman and Thomas Clifton Coleman Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Leona Garrett Coleman, and his three children, Edward Eugene Coleman Jr. (Sylvia), Rebecca Coleman (David Hamilton), and William Haskins Coleman (Beth).  He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Jennifer Coleman Willis (Tyler), Edward Eugene Coleman III (Mary Covington), William Joseph Coleman (Mary Glenn), John Macon Coleman, and William Brandon Coleman (Alex), and five great grandchildren, Mary Virginia Willis, Elizabeth Jane Monroe Willis, Edward Eugene Coleman IV, Kathryn Elizabeth Coleman, and Rebecca Covington Coleman.

The family will be receiving friends at the home at all times. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Boydton Baptist Church followed by a burial in the Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 93, Boydton, Virginia, 23917.
