Edward Earl Jones, Jr., age 54, passed away at his home in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, Thursday, July 11, 2013. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Earl Jones, Sr. and Ruby Hite Jones. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lucille Pittard Jones and his son, Chandler Edward Jones. Eddie is also survived by his brothers, Jeffrey Hite Jones and his wife Carol Ann of Red Oak, Virginia and Todd Scott Jones and his wife Tanya of Clarksville, Virginia, as well as his brother-in-law, Andrew Thompson Pittard III and his wife Karen of Buffalo Junction, Virginia. Eddie was the proud uncle of his nephew, Ian Brankley Jones, and his nieces, Sara Elizabeth Pittard, Kristen Anne Pittard, Lauren Hite Jones, and Hite Newton Jones. Additionally, Eddie is survived by his father-in-law, Andrew Thompson Pittard, Jr. and his mother-in-law, Margaret Chandler Pittard of Buffalo Junction, Virginia. Eddie was part of a large, loving family that included many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Eddie was a 1976 graduate of Bluestone High School. He attended Southside Virginia Community College and Elon College. He was the owner of Ed Jones Landscaping, where he enjoyed working outside. Eddie was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He loved boating on Buggs Island Lake with family and friends. His greatest love, however, was watching Chandler play baseball. Eddie was always watching from the sidelines supporting his son.
