Edward Allen Puryear

Oxford, NC - Edward “Eddie” Allen Puryear, Sr., affectionately known as “Bulldog”, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the age of 53. He was born in Halifax County, VA on January 18, 1965 to the late Wardell and Nerene Walters Puryear. Eddie made his living driving trucks.He loved big trucks and motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidsons. “Bulldog” went to heaven doing what he loved to do. Cherishing his memories are daughters Brandy Renee Puryear of Chapel Hill, NC, Kimberly Faye Lane (Randy) of Oxford, NC; sons Edward Allen Puryear, Jr. of Bucyrus, OH, Trevor Thomas Puryear (Lauren) of Bumpass, VA; sisters Dawn Walker (Jimmy) of Buffalo Junction, VA, Judy Comer (Tommy) of South Boston, VA, Bonnie Gordon (Lester) of Virgilina, VA, Tommie Puryear of Franklinton, NC; brothers Wardell H. “W.H.” Puryear, Jr. (Pam) of Nelson, VA and Willard Puryear (Nancy) of Oxford, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren Greysen, Tyler, Dakota, Jade, Cameron, Abigail and Troy. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Nelson Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 pm on Wednesday, June 20 at Nelson Baptist Church.
