Edward “Ed” Lee Tuck passed away peacefully at his home in South Boston, VA on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of 78 after fighting two types of cancer. Edward was born on August 20, 1945, in Halifax County, VA to the late Thomas Keith Tuck, Sr. and Virginia M. Tuck. Edward was married to the late Judy Lewis Tuck. Ed graduated from Halifax County High School in 1963 and later attended the Virginia State Police Academy. After graduating from the VSPA, Ed had a long career as a Virginia State Police Officer in Greenville and Halifax counties. He also served in the United States Army National Guard. Ed is survived by his stepdaughters, Natalie B. Whitlow and Lori B. Luther and grandchildren, Tyler Whitlow, Brianna Whitlow, Cami Whitlow and Christopher Luther. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred Tuck Younger (Robert) of Ormond Beach, FL; his brothers, Thomas Keith Tuck, Jr. (Mamie Marie) and Ralph Dale Tuck (Kaye) of Virgilina, VA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Ed is survived by special friends, Jimmie & Frances Perkins, Jimmy & Michelle Ford, Lee & Rebecca Perkins, Will Perkins, TJ Simmerman, Billy & Ruth Perkins, Chock & Barbara Watters, Verlyn & Ruth Emswiler, Randy & Dianne Holmes, Floyd & Ramona Elliott, Juanita Wright and Brenda Cobbs and caregivers, Naketti Marrow, Tenia McBee, Vanessa Puckett, Candee Dotson, Lydia Daniels and Pam Perkins. As long as he was able Ed enjoyed going to Nascar races in Daytona Beach and other tracks. He looked forward to his breakfasts with his Buddies. He also cherished the friendship over the years of his Virginia State Police brothers and his family of neighbors on Sweet Gum Lane. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Burial Park in Danville, Virginia. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 1PM - 2 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
