Edward William Allen

Edward William Allen, 86, husband of JoAnn Heald Allen, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Allen obtained his Masters in Education at the University of Pittsburgh and was retired from National Commercial Finance Association as a Training Manager. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the Marine Corp. A member of Antioch Baptist Church, his memorial service will be held there on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2PM with the Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Allen is survived by his sons, Robert William Allen of Beaverton, Oregon and Thomas Edward Allen of Red Oak; and his adopted daughter, Diane Banks, also of Red Oak. His brother, James R. Allen of West Mifflin, PA , sister, Mary Mayfield of West Homestead, PA; granddaughter, Tonyia Veloso and two great grandchildren also survive.
