Edwin David Hudson

Mr. Edwin David Hudson of South Boston went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax County on September 11, 1938 the son of the late Floyd Edwin Hudson and the late Virginia Serena Wilson Hudson and was married to Julia Erline Newton Hudson. David was a member of his beloved North Fork Baptist Church where he served faithfully wherever needed, was involved in the local tobacco market, and was lifetime farmer. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughters, Amy Lynn Cole and husband Ronnie of South Boston and Mary Virginia Carter and husband Steve of Nathalie; son, Michael David Hudson and wife Donna of Virgilina; grandchildren, Luke Edwin Hudson, Eli Benjamin Hudson, Howard David Lammerts, Abigail Foster Lammerts, and Julia Carter; step grandchildren, Drew Taylor Morris and wife Hannah and Zachary Ryan Morris and wife Deirdre; step great grandchildren, Aria Brielle Morris and Elora Rylee Anne Morris; brothers, Hilton Hudson, Curtis Hudson, Paul Hudson and Alan Hudson; and sisters, Muriel Williams, Judy Lee, Hollis Bowen, and Linda Gale. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Martin Hudson. Funeral services for Mr. Hudson will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:00PM at North Fork Baptist Church with Reverend Doug Ballew officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and at other times at the home, 1014 Foster Ln., South Boston.
