Mrs. Elaine Stephens Morris, 67, wife of Alvah Lee (Al) Morris, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.Mrs. Morris was born on September 21, 1947 in Person Co., NC to John Joseph Stephens and Doris Christine Marston Stephens.She was a graduate of Person County High School with the Class of 1965, Secretary and VP for A.L. Morris, Inc., former employee of Cato's and Burlington Industries, and a member of Union Christian Church.Mrs. Morris also taught Children's Church for several years at Seven Oakes Baptist Church and serves as a volunteer with Berry Hill Nursing Home.In addition to her husband, Alvah Lee (Al) Morris,survivors include three daughters, Tammy Morris Wall and husband, Jeremy of Virgilina, Tina Morris Midkiff and husband, Bran of Halifax, Tracy Morris Clark and husband, Charlie of Virgilina; mother, Doris Marston Stephens and a sister Katherine Jo Stephens both of Roxboro, NC; and nine grandchildren, Stephen and Annah Wall, Emily Midkiff, Amber, David, Benjamin, Hannah, Ashley, and Aaron Clark. Elaine was pre-deceased by her father John Joseph Stephens and a daughter Angel Leigh Morris.Funeral services will be conducted2:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Union Christian Church with Rev. Norman Talley and Brother Frankie Reaves officiating.Interment will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, from 7-9 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and at other times at the home.Online condolences may be expressed at www.brookslyon.com.
