Elizabeth Ingram Martin

Mrs. Elizabeth Ingram Martin of Nathalie died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the age of 89. She was born in Halifax Co. on October 3, 1920 to the late Charlie Hudson Ingram and the late Fannie Spencer Ingram and was married to the late Thomas Orville Martin. Mrs. Martin was a retired LPN at Halifax Regional Hospital and was a member of Childrey Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin is survived by a sister, Edith I. Powell of South Boston; a nephew, Tim Powell of Concord, NC; and two nieces, Frances Newcomb of Chase City and Deborah Ferguson of Laguna Hills, CA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Luther Ingram, Arthur Ingram, Garland Ingram, Phillip Ingram, and Elisha Ingram; two sisters, Nellie I. Tuck and Dorothy I. Fisher: and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Childrey Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Edith Powell, 123 White Oak Dr., South Boston.
