Elizabeth Green Reaves

Mrs. Elizabeth Green Reaves 95 of Virgie Cole Rd., South Boston, VA died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at The Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on February 13, 1915, the daughter of the late Seddie J. Green, Sr. and the late Ella Burgess Green and was married to the late Jesse Anthony Reaves. Mrs. Reaves was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Reaves is survived by her daughter, Lorene R. Fisher and her husband, Carl of Alton, sons; Allen Reaves and his wife, Elsie of Alton and Jerry Reaves and his wife, Esther of South Boston; sisters Frances Thomas of Alton and Ella Green of South Boston; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Reaves was also preceded in death by a son; Lowell Reaves, grandson; Daniel Fisher, sister; Ardelia Vernon and brothers; Willie Green, Lacy Green, Seddie Green, Jr. and Harold Green. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. John Flood officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Thursday night April 15, 2010 from 7 until 8:30 pm and at other times at the home of Lorene & Carl Fisher, 3077 Turbeville Rd, Alton.
