SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Elizabeth Satterfield Rogers of South Boston died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the age of 84. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 13, 1931 to the late Bedford Henry Satterfield and the late Mary Long Satterfield. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church and was a former employee of Presto. Survivors include sons, Samuel W. “Sammy” Rogers and wife, Jeanette and John Allen Rogers and wife, Joanne; daughter, Cheryl Church and husband, John; grandchildren, Tracey Rogers, Beth Francis, Ted Throckmorton and wife, Danielle, Stuart Throckmorton, Joseph “Joey” Rogers and wife, Alyssa, Joshua “Josh” Rogers, Deborah Allen, Gayle Thomason, and Ginger Tulloh; great grandchildren, Brent Throckmorton, Chelsey Throckmorton, April Francis, Blake Francis, and Evan Throckmorton; great-great grandchild, Peyton Elizabeth Francis; brothers, James Satterfield and Jesse Satterfield; sister, Virginia Lowery; special caregivers, Iris and Donna; and the staff of Team Nurse. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel William Rogers, second husband, Carlton McDaniel, step daughter, Nancy Carol Tulloh, two brothers, and two sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Black Walnut Baptist Church with the Reverend Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday and at the home, 6106 Huell Matthews Hwy., South Boston from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily leading up to the service. The family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
