SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Eloise Seaman Franklin of South Boston died Monday, May 23, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on November 2, 1923 to the late Albert Bossie Seaman and the late Sally Wilborn Seaman and was married to the late Lloyd Belt Franklin. Eloise was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She and her late husband started Franklin's Garage and Wrecker Service in the late 50's. She worked right by his side throughout the years until his passing. Mrs. Franklin is survived by her son, David Franklin and wife Priscilla of South Boston; two daughters, Carolyn Smiley and Debbie Franklin Ellington, both of South Boston; a sister, Elizabeth Wilborne of South Boston; four grandchildren, Lisa Smiley, Kim Smiley, Amanda Penzer and husband, Chris, and Beth Wilson; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandsons, Tony Franklin and Bobby Howerton, great granddaughter, Toni Franklin, and brothers, Jack Seaman and Edward Seaman. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Grace Baptist Church on Wednesday from 2:00 Pm until 3:00 PM and at other times at the home, 1181 Huell Matthews Hwy., South Boston.
