DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. LINK HAVE BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2014 AT 4:00 PM. Ms. Elsie Gwynn Lowery Link of 4182 Cedar Grove Road, Alton, VA died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the age of 81. She was born in Halifax County, VA., on July 5, 1932 the daughter of the late Richard Lowery and the late Lottie Oakley Lowery and she was of the Baptist faith Ms. Link is survived by her daughters, Jane Lowery and husband, Mitch and Tamara Overby both of Alton, VA; sons, Gary Link and wife, Sarah and Larry Link both of Alton,VA ; a brother, Dean Lowery and wife, Bonnie of South Boston; five Grandchildren, Rodney Poole, Kyle Lowery, Will Overby, Justin Overby and Jessica Overby; three Great Grandchildren, Peyton Poole, Kennedy Lowery and Ella Lowery: and three step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister; Rencie L. Ragans. Funeral services for Ms. Elsie Gwynn Lowery Link will be held Friday, March 8, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 pm and at other times at the home.
