Elvin Willis Bane

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Elvin Willis Bane of South Boston passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 89.He was born in Halifax County, VA on November 15, 1929 the son of the late Wesley Daniel Bane and the late Blanchie Thomas Bane and was married to Emily Seamons Bane for 59 years. Elvin was retired from Blue Ribbon Creamery and Halifax Cotton Mill. Mr. Bane is survived by his wife, Emily; sons, Charles E. Bane (Sandra) of Halifax, Delmas Bane (Tina Clark) of South Boston, Robbie Bane (Michelle) of Snow Camp, NC and Joey Bane (Angela) of South Boston; twin brother, Melvin William Bane of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Emily Bane, Matthew Bane, Christian Bane, Joshua Bane and Bethany Bane; great grandson, Cameron Murphy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00 – 2:00, at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and at other times his home, 140 Summit Drive, South Boston.
