SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Emma Mical Gainey of South Boston, VA died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born in Pageland, SC on September 19, 1924 to the late James Edward Mical and the late Beulah Moree Mical and was married to the late Odell Gainey. Emma was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She worked at Burlington Industries for many years and was a mother having raised three children. Mrs. Gainey is survived by two daughters, Barbara Watters and husband, Chock of Holdenville, OK and Patsy Tolbert and husband, L.B. of Buena Vista, VA; a son, Don Gainey and wife, Faye of South Boston, VA; a sister, Margaret Conner of Monroe, NC; a brother, Ed Mical and wife, Betty of Naples, FL; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five siblings, and a grandson, Joe Howell. Funeral services will be held at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM with The ReverendJane Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 24 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and at other times at the home of Don and Faye Gainey, 3136 Bill Tuck Hwy., South Boston.
