Mr. Ernest Clay of 200 Hamilton Blvd., South Boston, VA died Monday, February 25, 2013 at the age of 68. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 1, 1944 to the late Herman Clay and the late Ada Lovelace Clay. He is survived by one daughter, Rose Marie C. Langford and husband, Stanley of Scottsburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Janice Clay of Cluster Springs, VA and Jean Clay of South Boston, VA; his former wife, Elizabeth Medina of South Boston, VA; special friend, Anna Gladfelter; three sisters, Estelle Hodges of Nathalie, VA, Corine Clay and Patty Clay both of South Boston, VA; one brother, Bobby Clay of South Boston, VA; three grandchildren, Serenity Faith Horton, Benjamin Micheal Langford, and Gloria Michelle Langford; two step grandchildren, Charles Hunter-Gray Langford and Katherine Grace Langford. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Sterling Ingram, Lillie Crews and Bonnie McKinney and two brothers, Stuart Clay and Floyd Clay. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. David Rathel officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Brooks Funeral Home from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of his sister, Corine Clay, 1213 Hamilton Blvd., South Boston, VA 24592.
