Ernest Young Gregory

Mr. Ernest Young Gregory, 84, of 400 Windstream Way, Cary, NC formerly of 400 Sizemore St. Clarksville, VA died April 2, 2015. Mr. Gregory was born on July 27, 1930 in Finchley to the late Melville Young Gregory and the late Macon McGee Gregory. Mr. Gregory is survived by his wife of 59 years Shirley Bliss Gregory of Cary, son: Thomas Young Gregory of Cary, NC and a grandson William Young Gregory, a VMI Cadet Class of 2016. In addition to his parents Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law: Frances Anne Pittard Gregory. Mr. Ernest Gregory was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church, and a former member of Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department. He proudly worked for 55years in the textile industry retiring as an inventory checker from Burlington Industries, Inc. He was part of the construction crew for the Dixie Youth Ball Park, and Robbins Mills which later became Burlington Industries. Ernest was always willing to help his neighbors and his community which he loved dearly. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Gregory will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Oakhurst Cemetery with the Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. The family received friends Friday April 3, 2015 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
