Estelle Cole Gupton

Virgilina, VA - Estelle Cole Gupton, widow of Eugene Graham Gupton, Jr., passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the age of 99.She was born in Halifax County, VA on June 19, 1918 to the late Fannie Bet Comer Cole and James Ernest Cole. Mrs. Gupton was a graduate of Virgilina High School Class of 1935. She retired from the Virgilina school system after 25 years as a school cafeteria manager. She was a member of Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Gupton is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Marvin Wells; son Frank Allen Gupton; sisters, Gladys C. Newcomb of Virgilina and Barbara Woltz of Buffalo Junction; brother Causey Cole of Clarksville; granddaughters, Kim Inscore (Bruce) and Connie Stimpson (Ned); great grandchildren, Anna McDeavitt (Justin) and Brent Inscore (Brandy) and great-great grandchild Lillie McDeavitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Aaron’s Creek Baptist Church in Virgilina, VA with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Bryan Gough will be officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
