CLOVER, VA Mrs. Ethelyne Hazelwood Lacks went joyfully home to Jesus on January 9, 2019.She was the first of eight children born to the late Robert T. Hazelwood and the late Lucille Cassada Hazelwood on April 10, 1935. Ethelyne was a beloved senior member of The Church of God of Prophecy, Clover and was retired from Burlington Industries. At the age of 19, she married Howard Berkley Lacks and celebrated 64 years of marriage. Her daughters, Connie Martin (Ray) of Halifax and Judy Lacks of Clover survive.Her precious son, Randy Dale Lacks preceded her in death allowing her the gift of raising her first grandchild, Randy Howard Lacks. She was a second mom to granddaughters Joni and Hollie Lacks. Her youngest grandson, Joshua R. Martin (Katie) live in Bentonville, Arkansas. She cherished 10 great grandchildren, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Kendall, Landon, Trevor, Leelon, Layla, River, Pia and Malachi, one great great grandson, Jeffrey Lee and a host of nieces and nephews; four sisters, Mary Jackson, Thelma Nichols, Shirley Briley (Alan), Wanda Hylton (Jerry), and one brother, Donnie Hazelwood (Shelia) survive. Three sister in laws, Helen Baroody, Sara Smith (William), and Juanita Duffer (Tommie) also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, James J. Hazelwood; sister, Sylvia H. Tuck and son in law, Barry D. Lacks. Funeral Services for Ethelyne Hazelwood Lacks will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Church of God of Prophecy, Clover at 11:00 AM with Sister Barbara Gravely and Reverend Tom Warren officiating.Interment will follow in Red Level Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 11, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and at other times the home, 6029 Clover Road, Randolph, VA.
