SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Eunice Thompson Hux passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. She was born in Charlotte County, VA on March 9, 1936 to the late Luther and Annie Trent Hamlett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Asbury Hux and 1st husband, John R. Thompson. Eunice was a member of Ellis Creek Baptist Church and retired from Presto Products. She is survived by a daughter, Mitzi Thompson Grove and husband, Curtis of South Boston; son, Michael Lester “Mike” Thompson and wife, Judy of Scottsburg; daughter-in-law, Brenda Thompson of Broadway; grandchildren, Tracey Showman (Michael), Brian Thompson (Shelane), Michelle (Shelly) Talbott, Nicholas Grove (Liz), Chelsea Grove and Jimmy Custer (Kim); great grandchildren, Logan, Colton and Owen Thompson, Lucas and Cody Frank, Sierra, Paisley and Rilee Showman, Destiny Talbott, Tyler and Branson Custer, Stephanie Elliott and Scarlett Wooding; sisters, Daisy Meurrens of South Boston, Alice Lowery of Bay City, Texas and Esther Martin of Crystal Hill and numerous family and friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Wayne “Mac” Thompson and siblings Rosa Cook, Mary Hudson, James Hamlett, Cabell Hamlett, Georgia Beadles, Velma Glass, Nellie Jennings, Beatrice Jones and Eva Crews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Halifax Memorial Gardens.
