Evelyn Franklin Sexton

Chase City, VA- Mrs. Evelyn Franklin Sexton, wife of the late Bertram Sexton, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at the age of 76. She was born on July 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Johnston Franklin. Evelyn retired from her secretarial position with the Hampton Roads School System after 30 years of employment. First and foremost, she was a “Mama”, who lovingly and tirelessly cared for her all of her children and grandchildren. Cherishing her memories are a son, Michael Edwards (Teresa) of Chase City; daughter, Christine Youmans (George) of Clarksville; grandchildren, Heather, Joseph, Timothy, Harley, Taylor Ann and Hunter; and great grandchildren, Skyler, Mary, Josie, Cannon and Baileigh. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Blane. Graveside services will be at 10 A.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Sexton family cemetery.
