Mr. Filmore Dodd Propst of 1092 Loftis Rd., South Boston died Sunday, February, 14, 2010 at the age of 84. Mr. Propst was born in Charlotte Co. on May 19, 1925 to the late Della Jennings and William Terrell Propst. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II, a retired maintenance tech. at Burlington Industries, a farmer, hunter, fisherman, and was a member of the Hyco Rd. Hunting Club. Mr. Propst is survived by his wife, Betty Davis Mann Propst; son, Phil Propst and wife, Bunny of Buffalo Junction; step son, Dennis Mann and partner, Tina Colbert of Brookneal; brother, Homer Propst of Virgilina; sisters, Gladys Andrews of Clarksville, Laville Wagner of Charlotte, NC, Lorain Potter of Chesapeake, Sathell Williamson of Northeast, MD, and Jackie White of Soddy Daisy, TN; grandchildren, Olivia Propst Shockey, Dora Marie Briones, Frankie Satterfield, and Sandra Smith; step grandchild, Jacob Mann; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Lee Conner Propst; daughter, Desiree Kaye Propst Willis; and brothers, Gordon Propst and James Propst. Graveside services for Mr. Propst will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Barbara L. Parker officiating.
