Florence Reese Bass

Florence Reese Bass, 85, died March 4, 2012. Florence was born to Allen Wade and Aurelia McCargo Reese Wade on July 5, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, VA. A homemaker, she raised her children and was then worked at various golf courses. The last fifteen years of her working career Florence was a drycleaner and seamstress. Mrs. Bass completed Cosmetology School and is a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Florence is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julia Bass and David Bullock of Southern Pines, NC, a son, Wilton Allen Bass of Clarksville, and three grandchildren, Len Pipkin, Marty Bullock, and Robin Barnes. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 12:00 – 1:45 pm at Watkins, Cooper, Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave, Clarksville, VA 23927, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Oakhurst Cemetery, 180 Buffalo Road, Clarksville, VA.
