Florence Vaughan Boyd

Mrs. Florence Vaughan Boyd, 84, formerly Grassy Creek-Virgilina Road, died Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Roxboro Health Care and Rehab Center in Roxboro. She was born December 30, 1928 to the late Zelder and Emma Elliott Vaughan. Mrs. Boyd was the widow of the late Johnny Boyd and was predeceased by her son, Ricky Boyd; grandson, Ashley Brewer; son-in-law, Winston "Wimp" Brewer; and brother, Frances "Bunk" Vaughan. She was retired from Lenox China. A member of Amis Chapel Baptist Church, funeral services will be held there at 2PM on Sunday with the Reverend Terry Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Boyd is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Brewer of Oxford and Vickie Clayton and her husband, Danny of Roxboro; son, Cody Boyd; and daughter-in-law, Renee Dixon of South Boston. Her grandchildren, Jill Alder Ronnie of Maryland; Meranda Wolfe Jason of Hurdle Mills; Sheena Throckmorton Jeff of Roxboro and Ricky Boyd of South Boston; great grandchildren, Ashton Alder and Bradley Alder of Maryland, Courtney Gentry and Carly Wolfe of Hurdle Mills, Aiden Langley and Ace Throckmorton of Roxboro; step-grandchildren, Richie Clayton, Jeffrey Clayton, and Stefanie Gilbert; brothers, William Vaughan of Oxford, Ray Vaughan Doris of Elon; sister-in-law, Esther Vaughan of Oxford and a special nephew, Mike Vaughan of Oxford also survive. The family will receive friends at the church just prior to the service, starting at 1PM.
