Florence Catherine Kroupa

Florence Catherine Kroupa, 90, widow of Edward J. Kroupa, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Raleigh. Mrs. Kroupa was born in New York on May 2, 1926 to the late Frederick and Evelyn Stadleman.She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Fred and Grace Paul in Bay Shore, NY.Florence obtained her BSN and was a nurse and chief supervisor at Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital in Brentwood, NY.Mrs. Kroupa was a member of Bay Shore Congregational Church. Mr. and Mrs. Kroupa lived most of their married life in Brightwaters, Long Island and had lived in Clarksville, Va. for 28 years before becoming residents of Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 29 in the Chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA with entombment to follow at Woodland Mausoleum in Chase City with the Reverend Dusty Rippelmeyer officiating. Mrs. Kroupa is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Dixie Kroupa of Portland, Oregon, John Kroupa and Noreen Fisher of Riverhead, NY, and Ed and Susan Kroupa of Raleigh. Her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Transitions Lifecare (Hospice).
