Florence Williams Strum

Mrs. Florence Williams Strum, 81, widow of Captain Swinnie Strum, died Friday, February 25, 2005 in South Boston. Daughter of the late Flournoy and Ida Elliott Williams, she was born and reared in Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Strum graduated from Stovall High School with the class of 1940 and worked for the Clarksville Police Department as Dispatcher for 20 years. Funeral services will be 2PM Sunday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Earnie Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are her sister, Raye W. Yancey of Richmond; special niece and nephews, Florence Yvonne Worner, Donnie Yancey, and Dean Yancey all of Richmond. Other nieces and nephews and Great-nieces and nephews also survive Florence. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Saturday at the funeral home.
