Floyd Milton Brankley

November 28, 1924 — April 24, 2006

Mr. Floyd Milton Brankley, 81, husband of Gertrude Mangum ?Trudy? Brankley, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston. Son of Henry Lindsey and Estelle McCargo Brankley, Mr. Brankley graduated from Chase City High School with the class of 1942. He loved his church, Ephesus United Methodist, where he volunteered his time and energy. Mr. Brankley served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. A retired farmer, he was a member of various civic clubs. Funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday at Ephesus United Methodist Church with Pastor Pat Neilsen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Gayle B. and Robert ?Brock? Brockman of Charlottesville and son and daughter-in-law, Floyd G. and Angela Brankley of South Boston. Also surviving are sisters, Frances Whitaker of Williamsburg, Eunice Currin of Victoria, Neva Parker of Newport News, Shirley Vaughn of Rocky Mount, Betty Barnes of Dolphin and grandchildren, Ryan, Laura, and Gabriel Brankley. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Tuesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Ephesus United Methodist Church.
