Frances Jordan Glasscock

Frances Jordan Glasscock, wife of the late Tommie Lee Glasscock, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, August 30, 2023, at her home in Cameron, NC.  She was born Cornelia Frances Jordan in Person County, NC on October 19, 1930, to the late Lambeth and Grace Long Jordan. Frances worked for many years at Russell Stover Candies but her most important and rewarding job was raising her four wonderful daughters and son.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Denise Hennings (Danny) of Cameron, NC, Paula Charls (Dave) of Cameron, SC, and Naomi Glasscock of Louisburg, NC; son, Lewis Long (Cynthia) of Mebane, NC; siblings, Dorothy Porterfield (Ray) of Roxboro, NC, Ann Carver (Johnny) of Roxboro, NC, Bobby Jordan (Gloria) of Virgilina,VA and Brenda Howerton (Mark) of Clarksville,VA; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Savannah, and many fur grandbabies.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Reitha Walters and siblings, Patsy Tillman, Sonny Jordan, Alice Richardson, William Jordan, Peggy Jordan and Betty Pruitt.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, September 2 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Herbert Brown officiating. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Bluestone Cemetery.  Frances' family will gather and meet friends and loved ones at other times at the home of Brenda Howerton, at 1419 Shiney Rock Rd. Clarksville, VA 23927.
