Frances Elizabeth Thompson Throckmorton

Frances Elizabeth Thompson Throckmorton, wife of the late Willie Bernard Throckmorton, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at the age of 89. Born in Halifax County on November 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry Hubbard and Evelyn Mays Thompson. Frances was retired from J.P. Stevens, where she worked as a cloth room inspector. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church. Frances is survived by her children, Jerry Throckmorton (Brenda Couch), Wanda Ellington (Donnie) and David Throckmorton (Cindy); grandchildren, Jill Throckmorton, Christy Spencer, Kelly Comer, Joey Throckmorton, Trey Hall and Elizabeth Tuck; great grandchildren, Chandler Toombs, Ashton Anderson, Stephen Comer, Brooke Comer, Grant Comer, Noah Tuck, Cameron Hall, Michael Hall, McKayla Hall, Ty Throckmorton and Paislee Throckmorton, as well as sisters, Christine Polasek and Everlyn Phillips. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Krepelar, Ruth Torian and Shirley Covington and brothers, Robert Thompson, George Thompson, Herbert Thompson and Owen Thompson. A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Oakland Cemetery with the Reverend Larry Davis officiating. Those wishing to pay their respects to Mrs. Throckmorton can do so at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday, August 7th from 12 Noon until 8PM.
