Buffalo Junction, VA Frank Randolph Garrett, husband of Nell Yarborough Garrett, left us to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born in Mecklenburg County on February 7, 1925 to the late Ida Powell Garrett and the late Macon Lewis Garrett. Randolph served in the United States Navy during WWII, with active duty in Okinawa, Japan. He served in the Navy on the U.S. Maryland and was a guard on the train that carried President Roosevelt’s body from California to Washington, D.C. Randolph was a 1943 graduate of Clarksville High School and retired from Russell Stover Candy Factory. He also farmed and worked at Buddy Gill’s Grocery. He was an active member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, with faithful service that included Chairman of the Deacons, Church Trustee, Sunday School Director, Maintenance committee Chair and member of the choir. In addition to his wife of 71 years, Randolph is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Joe Williamson of Clarksville; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Mary Garrett of Fredericksburg and Timothy and Robin Garrett of Clarksville; grandchildren, Dr. Meredith Williamson (Chip), Naomi Williamson, Greg Williamson (Jennifer), Stephanie Bailey (Chris), Cassandra JoAnn Garrett, Victoria Susan Garrett, Thomas Randolph Garrett and Nolan Boyd; great grandchildren, Charles Reid Randolph Nurmi, Katherine Rose Nurmi, Lydia Williamson, Rachel Williamson, Annelise Bailey and Elena Bailey and sister, Leona Coleman (Eugene) of Boydton. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Union Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverends Jackie Wray, Greg Lawson and Donald Wilson will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, October 11.
