Frank Raymond Williams

SCOTTSBURG, VA. Mr. Frank Raymond Williams of Williams Rd., Scottsburg, Va. died Monday December 15, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born in Halifax County in the same house he passed away in. He was the son of the late James Thomas and Virginia Snead Williams and husband of 61 years to Edith Elliott Williams. He retired from Westinghouse, now ABB, was a tobacco farmer, and a member of Clover United Methodist Church. Mr. Williams was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean conflict in Germany, and a member of the American Legion Post 8. Survivors include his wife, Edith Elliott Williams, one son, Frank Raymond“Ray” Williams, Jr. and wife Dale of Nathalie, three daughters, Virginia “Ann” McBride and friend Junior Norton of Pelham, NC, Rita Williams Griles and husband Dwayne of Scottsburg, and Tammy Williams Wooding and husband George of Sutherlin, nine grandchildren, FrankRaymond “Trey" Williams, III, Brandi Noblin Stephens, Brian Thomas Noblin, Devin Fraizor Griles, JamesLucas “Luke” Griles, Heather Danielle Griles, Elizabeth Adele Wooding, Jacob Crews Wooding, Tazewell Reese Wooding, eight great-grandchildren, Mary Caroline Williams, Frank Raymond “Quade” Williams, IV, Ellie Williams, Alexander Stephens, Anna Stephens, Andrew Stephens, Stephanie Grace Elliott, and Scarlett Ann Marie Wooding. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters, Willie Williams, Lillie Walters, Blanche Canada, Jim Williams, Flave Williams, Robert Williams, Connic Williams, Sam Williams, and Sallie Austin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Clover United Methodist Church with The Reverend Kerry Halbert and The Reverend Alan Epps officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Clover United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 7:00PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
