Mr. Fred Henry Thompson, Jr. of 2152 Aarons Creek Rd., Virgilina, VA (formerly of Richmond, VA) died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the age of 67. He was born in Clover, VA on November 20, 1944 to Lucille Francis Thompson and the late Fred Henry Thompson, Sr. and was married to Ruby Arrington Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a retired insulator for Unitherm, Inc.. He was member of Mt. Cana United Methodist Church and formerly attended Grace Fellowship in Richmond, VA. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Arrington Thompson of Virgilina, VA; his mother, Lucille Francis Thompson of Virgilina, VA; two daughters, Tammy Roberts and husband, Jesse of Virgilina, VA and Mary L. Thompson of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Elaine Hunt of Halifax, VA, Bonita Baylous and Anne Elliott, both of Virgilina, VA; four brothers, Wayne Thompson, Cecil Thompson, and Harold Thompson, all of Virgilina,VA and Presley Thompson of Danville, VA; and two grandchildren, Andrew Roberts and Sarah Grace Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Cana United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Holmes and Rev. Ron Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
