Freeman Cary Comer

Mr. Freeman Cary Comer, age 72, of 6051 Melon Rd., South Boston died February 17, 2011. Mr. Comer was born in Halifax County on May 29, 1938 the son of the late Walter G. Comer and the late Lonnie Rebecca Ford Comer and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his daughter; Teresa Comer & fiance', Allen Stevens of South Boston, grandson; Michael Wayne Comer & friend, Hailey Scott of Halifax, Granddaughter; Kristen Adara Comer & friend, Travis Bowes of Halifax. Sisters; Helen Thacker of South Boston and Anna Glasscock of Clarksville, a brother; Hester Comer of Virgilina, a devoted friend; Elsi Jordan of Stovall, NC. In addition to his parents Mr. Comer was preceded in death by a son; Freeman Giles Comer, and five brothers; Andrew "Buck" Comer, Herbert "Tom" Comer, Raymond Comer, Sam T. Comer, and Douglas "Doug" Comer. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Welch officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 and at other times at the home of Teresa Comer, 6051 Mellon Rd., South Boston.
