George Hoover Daniel

Virgilina, VA George Hoover Daniel, age 86, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.He was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on September 1, 1929 to the late Alfred Daniel and Matilda Matthews Daniel. Mr. Daniel served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Burlington Industries but his life’s joy was farming. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 15, 2016 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Todd McClure and Billy Coghill officiating.Interment will follow at Hitesburg Baptist Church cemetery.Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nell Overbey Daniel, his sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Tammy Daniel, Carl and Phyllis Daniel. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lauren Daniel, Caleb Daniel, Brian Satterfield, Karen Hawley; his great-grandchildren, Khali and Kayden Hawley; his brother, Jeff Daniel and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Daniel, Wilson Daniel, Lee Daniel, Bob Daniel; sisters, Lonnie Bet Forlines, Vannie Williams, Lelia Mulchi, Magruder Bowen; and grandson, Cody Daniel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 pm until 8:30 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2016.
