George Bartle Holberton

George Bartle Holberton of South Boston passed away on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, just days shy of his 80th birthday. Born on October 14th, 1944, George was the beloved son of the late Richard Whately Holberton and Margaret Price Holberton.  He is survived by his wife, Anita Koenig Holberton of the home.

George started his career as a mechanical draftsman and finished his career in manufacturing management. He was a former member of the South Boston Jaycees and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf at Green's Folly Country Club. Although South Boston was home, he loved visiting his home on Hatteras Island, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Bryan Holberton (Cindy); grandchildren, Patrick Holberton (Brittany) and Mikaela Forshay (Tyler); great grandchildren, Lux Mancuso and River Holberton.

Services to honor George's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home.
