SOUTH BOSTON - Mr. Gerald Stover Duffie of South Boston, formerly of Danville, passed away Friday August 19, 2016 at the age of 83. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on October 8, 1932 to the late Jollie James Duffie and the late Virginia Reaves Duffie. A graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and East Carolina University, Gerald was a co-founder of Duffie Graphics. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing sports in his youth. Mr. Duffie is survived by his son, Jollie Duffie and wife, Laurie of Richmond; daughter, Randa D. Williams of Danville; sister, Carole Rottler of South Boston; brother, Carl Duffie and wife, Nancy of South Boston; grandchildren, Halle Duffie, Jeff Williams, and Cole Williams; nieces, Rhonda Green and husband, Harold, Lori Cole and husband, Chris, and Tammy Scott; and nephews, Scott Rottler and Jay Duffie and wife, Rhonda. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Duffie. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 3 PM. The family requests that those wishing to give memorials to please consider your favorite charity.
