Mr. Gerald Hester Wrenn, 81, widower of Alice Marie Jones Wrenn, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Wrenn was born in Danville and reared in Lynchburg, graduating from the Brookville High School with the class of 1943. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Boydton Baptist Church, Twin Rivers Masonic Lodge # 338; and was an ACCA Temple Shriner; Scottish Rights Valley of Danville. Mr. Wrenn served as Club President and Secretary of the Boydton Ruritan Club and was also District Governor. He had also served as President of the Danville Sertoma Club and was a life member of Sertoma International. Mr. Wrenn worked as a Funeral Director from 1949 until 1989 and in 1960 went to work for Wyatt Chevrolet, later to become Tamsom Chevrolet. He remained there and served as Vice-President and General Manager. In 1977 he purchased the Chevrolet Dealership in Clarksville and retired in 1978 due to health issues. Graveside services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Boydton Baptist Cemetery with the Reverend Tant Ehrhardt officiating. Mr. Wrenn is survived by son, Gerald Wayne Wrenn of Boydton and daughter, Judith Wrenn Zehmer and her husband, Richmond T. Zehmer, III of Midlothian. Also surviving are granddaughters, Ruth Anne Wrenn of Jersey City, NJ and Carrie Jenkins-Zehmer of Richmond; Courtney and Nicholas Hanak of Fredericksburg, VA; grandson, David Wrenn and his wife, Genevieve of Jersey City, NJ; and great granddaughter, Layla Eve Wrenn of Jersey City, NJ.
