Gladys Barfield King

Mrs. Gladys Barfield King, 90, of 7255 Florence Ave., Virgilina, VA died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her home. Born in Florence Co., SC, Mrs. King was the daughter of Nathan Barfield and Annie Osborne Barfield, and was married to Kiester Hodges King. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Virgilina Woman's Club Mrs. King is survived by one son, James Owen King of Ft. Pierce, FL; four daughters, Elizabeth K. Stamper of Charleston, SC, Rebecca K. Wilson of Alton, VA, Sheryl Bee K. Puryear of Roxboro, NC, and Barbara Ellen King of Virgilina, VA; one sister, Mary Mozzell Baker of Mount Pleasant, SC; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Virgilina Cemetery, Virgilina, VA.
