Gladys Lucille Walter Briscoe

VERNON HILL, VA Mrs. Gladys Lucille Briscoe of High Rock Trail, Vernon Hill, VA went to her Heavenly home on Friday, October, 13, 2017 at the age of 88.Born in Brush, Colorado on December 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Chris Walter and the late Anna Walter and was married to the late Joe Buck Briscoe for 48 years. Gladys was raised up in Brush, CO. and was a graduate of the class of 1946. She attended Pleasant Grove Christian Church and Grace Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Joseph J.B. Briscoe and wife Sharon; daughter, Sally Jo Evans; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Diane VanBuren and Rebecca Phelps; and a grandson, Jason Phelps. Funeral services for Mrs. Briscoe will be Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 on Sunday, October 22 prior to the service.
