Gladys Virginia Philpott

Mrs. Gladys Virginia Philpott of 2179 Wolf Trap Rd., South Boston, VA died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 99. She was born in Halifax County on October 16, 1910, the daughter of the late John Geil Holsinger and the late Lydie Lilean Beam Holsinger and was married to the late Harley Raines Philpott.. Mrs. Philpott was of the Baptist faith and a retired clerk for American Automobile Association now AAA . Mrs. Philpott is survived by her sister, Edith Holsinger of South Boston, a granddaughter; Sharon Williamson; great-grandchildren; Kelli DeRoy and Traci Williamson; great-great grandchildren; John Hunter DeRoy and Jacob Hunter Deroy; daughter-in-law, May Philpott. Mrs. Philpott was also preceded in death by her son; John Averett Philpott, sisters; Rhonda May Holsinger and Stella Clara Holsinger and her brother; Floyd Holsinger. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Allen Mahan officiating.
