Gladys Reaves Pool

South Boston, VA Gladys Reaves Pool, wife of the late John William Pool, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 13, 2020, at the age of 89. She was born in Halifax County, VA on December 22, 1930 to the late Beverly Averette Reaves and the late Sally Lewis Ford Reaves. Gladys was a great cook who loved to clean and had a passion for serving others. She was a member at Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pool is survived by her daughter, Debra Dyer (Elvin); son, Dale Pool; grandchildren, Katina Epps (Tom), Fallon Hudson (John), and Melanie Hastings (Matt); great grandchildren, Taylor Gunn, Natalie Epps, Piper Epps and Tyler Hudson; brothers, Barksdale Reaves (Helen), Billy Reaves (Jean), Lewis Reaves (Ann), Fred Reaves and a sister, Nancy “Judy” Yates (Albert). In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Averette Reaves and Cecil Reaves and daughter-in-law, Wanda Pool. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2020, in the fellowship hall at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Johnny Tucker will officiate. In following with Covid-19 guidelines, face mask and social distancing is required.
