Gloria Phillips Hughes

Gloria Phillips Hughes of Randolph, VA, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Augusta County, VA, on March 28, 1947, she was the daughter of late Frank and Ann Stone Phillips. Gloria was married for 45 years to the late James Brack Hughes Sr.

She was a very strong willed, loving, selfless, and hard working woman. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Gloria had a lot of love in her heart for others.

She is survived by her daughter and son; Angela Brammer (Roger) and  James Brack Hughes Jr. (Charlotte), brothers; Jerome Phillips (Carol) and Larry Phillips (Ruth); grandchildren, Sarah (Ty Carter), Holly, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Caileb, Cailee, Jailyn, Antonio Jr., A'kynzie, Jersie, and Ashtonn; and sister, Deana Cole.

In addition to her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ardena Francis Coffey and Stonewall Jackson Phillips; son, Christopher Hughes; sister, Brenda Manning; and special aunt, Sarah Argenbright.

The family will hold a visitation on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and a celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 PM.
