Gloria Thomas Jones

Gloria Thomas Jones of 116 Rose Hill Dr., South Boston, VA died Friday, November 18, 2011 at the age of 70. She was born in Danville, VA on April 19, 1941 to the late William Nathan Thomas and the late Stella Mae New Cook. Ms. Thomas was a member of the New Covenant Worship Center and a retired forklift operator at Presto Products Co.. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Jones of South Boston, VA and Lisa Colston of Lexington, NC; a son, Mark Gregory of Sanford, NC; two sisters, Joyce Thomas and Brenda Throckmorton, both of South Boston, VA; three brothers, Tim Shelton of South Boston, VA, Randy Shelton, and Chucky Cook of South Boston, VA; and six grandchildren, Whitney, Chelsea, Jeremy, Lulu, Ben, & Brad. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike Shelton. Graveside services will held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grant Dyer and Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Joyce Thomas, 2006 Cluster Springs Rd., South Boston, VA.
