Golden Cornelius Bowes, Jr.

Golden Cornelius Bowes Jr., age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at his residence in Alton, VA. He was born in Person County, NC, on March 12th, 1942 to the late Golden C. Bowes Sr. and Jenny Bett Vicks Bowes. Golden was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Alease Satterfield Bowes. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories and love.

Golden was a member of Alton Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.  He was proud to have served two combat tours in Vietnam. He loved watching westerns, deer hunting and training deer dogs.

He is survived by a daughter, Jenny Sisk (Donnie); son, Brett Bowes (Becky); caregivers, Phillip, Edith, & Terri Coleman and special friends & neighbors, Stuart & Debra Pulliam.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lessie Bowes, Edith Bowes, Doris Smith, Margie Wilburn, Ellen Hall, Mary Alice Bowes, James Bowes, Roy Bowes and Jesse Cornelius Bowes, Sr.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Bowes Family Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Road, Alton, VA with Reverend Vance Midgett officiating.
