Grace Sue Mckinney

SOUTH BOSTON Grace Sue McKinney of South Boston passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the age of 91. She was born in Halifax County on March 8, 1931 to the late Wilmouth E. Martin and Lily Lowery Martin and was married to the late Gene A. McKinney. Sue was well known for working in supermarkets as a meat wrapper. She enjoyed cooking, loved her family and her pet, Dottie. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Scribner Hall (Wesley) and Debra Scribner; grandchildren, Connie Ferguson Wynn, Matthew Allen Hall, and Christie Lynn Hall Haubenstricker; 4 great grandchildren, Dylan, Brian, Jay and Harrison Wynn; 2 great great grandchildren, Rosalie and Weston Wynn; and sisters-in-law, Montrose Martin and Francis Martin and caregiver, Evonne Terry. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Rae Scribner; grandchildren, Katie Ferguson and Justin Hall; siblings, Everett Martin, Roy Martin (Gwendolyn), Alma Lucille Martin, Lew Martin (Virginia), Arthur Lee Martin (Mary Arten), Bessie Odell Martin Chandler, Willie Martin (Norma), Annie Gertrude Martin Griffin and Herbert Chester Martin. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
