Hallie Jones Talley

Buffalo Junction, VA - Hallie Jones Talley, age 93, widow of Herbert Arthur Talley, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Mrs. Talley was born in South Boston, VA on August 24, 1922 to the late Martha Jane Conner and Robert Jones.She retired from J.P. Stevens after 27 years of working there as a cloth inspector.Hallie was a lifetime member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, worked in G.A.’s and served on various committees. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Talley was preceded in death by her only child, Don Herbert Talley.She is survived by daughter-in-law and husband, Wanda T. and Timothy Griffin, granddaughters and husbands, Sabrina and John Harden of South Boston, Sara and Dwayne Lenhart of Boydton, great-grandchildren Hallie Katherine Vaughan, Cole Wyatt Lenhart, and Chance Don Lenhart, sister-in-law Lillie Mae Jones of South Boston and many special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 7 – 8:30 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA.Funeral services for Mrs. Talley will be at 11:00 a.m on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.Reverend Wally Kelly will be officiating.
