Harold Elmo Spencer

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Harold Elmo Spencer passed away at his home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on June 21, 1941 to the late Howard Elmo Spencer and the late Hazel Reaves Spencer and was married to Lynda Owen Spencer. Harold was retired from the United States Postal Service with 23 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the local American Legion Post 8. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and singing. He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Lynda, he is survived by a daughter, Natalie S. Torrence and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Preston Spencer Seamons and Lleyton Isaac Burkholder; sister, Brenda McPeters and husband, Larry; a niece, Amy; and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Dan River Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Wooten and Reverend Don Bryant officiating. Due to Covid restrictions, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.There will be an open visitation on Tuesday, February 16 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home from 12 PM until 7 PM for family and friends to pay their respect.
