Harold Bernard Williamson

ALTON, VA Mr. Harold Bernard Williamson of Alton, VA died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the age of 87 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Milton, NC on December 14, 1926 to the late Jethro Amos Williamson and the late Laura Dalton Williamson, and was married for 65 years to Irene Zimmerman Williamson. A good neighbor to the Calvary community, he loved his family, was a great story teller and loved the outdoors. Mr. Williamson was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Italy during WW II. He retired from Westinghouse in 1991 and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Irene Z. Williamson; two daughters, Nancy Dalton and husband, Tommy of South Boston and Diane Albert and husband, Harry of Durham, NC; four grandchildren, Tracey Allred and husband, James, Cathy Pulliam and husband, Hal, David Albert, and Sara Albert; five great grandchildren, Susanna, Jay, and Andrew Allred and Hallie and Jake Pulliam; two brothers, Robert Williamson and wife, Marie of Alton and Johnny Williamson of Danville; three sisters, Edith Meeler of Alton, Doris Ann Zimmerman and husband, Thomas of Alton, and Joyce Lewis of Danville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church with viewing for one hour prior to the service.Officiating will be the Reverend Tracey Allred, the Reverend Larry Davis, and the Reverend Doctor Ralph Hawkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the burial and at other times at the home of Nancy and Tommy Dalton, 6040 Birch Elmo Rd., South Boston.
