Harry Odell Dixon

Harry Odell Dixon of South Boston passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 90.  He was born in Halifax County on June 8, 1933 to the late James John Dixon and the late Fannie "Willie" Landrum Dixon.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel New Dixon.

Harry loved Nascar, football and just being outdoors.  His hobby was bird watching and keeping the squirrels out of the bird feeders.  His family was very dear to him; he loved them all.  Harry was a member of Second Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Wanda D. Seamon (Steve); grandchildren, Michael Lawrence (Carrie), Casey Campbell (Briana), Chad Campbell (Ashleigh), Chase Campbell (Morgan) and Brent Seamon (Tiffany); great grandchildren, Connor, Cailyn, River, Cade, Kennedy, Will, Livey, Emma and Alex; sister, Joyce Powell and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lawrence Keaton; brothers, Wilson, Conway, Gene, C.B., and Charlie Dixon and sisters, Virginia Crews and Mary Dunn.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Reverend Ricky Whitlow officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
