Harry Dittmer "Hank" Immel, Iii

Mr. Harry Dittmer “Hank” Immel, III of Clarksville passed away on June 6, 2023 at the age of 76. He was born in Pittsburg, PA on June 7, 1946 the son of Col. Harry Dittmer Immel, Jr. and Dorothy Meinel Immel. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Hank graduated from Virginia Tech where he played football. He was a physical education teacher and driver’s education teacher at Park View Senior High School and Bluestone Middle School, a John H. Kerr Dam Corps of Engineer park ranger, and a volunteer with FEMA. Hank was a member of Jamieson UMC and enjoyed his church community and family. Mr. Immel is survived by his daughters, Jo Harrison Lawrence (Scott) of Roxboro, NC and Margaret Scott Fariole (Robert) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Anna Scott Lawrence, John Harrison Lawrence, Theron Hope Fariole, and Madelyn Jane Fariole; brothers, Richard George Immel and Jeffrey James Immel; and sisters, Hillarie Diane Immel and Susan Elizabeth America. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Jamieson UMC with Reverend Jim Bollinger officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, Hank's family asks that memorials be made to Jamieson UMC, at 219 5th St. Clarksville, Va 23927, or Sweet Virginia Barn Cats, at PO Box 154 Clarksville, VA 23927.
