Harry Flint Tingen, age 68, of 1060 Seven Oaks Drive, South Boston, VA, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at Halifax Regional Hospital. Born April 14, 1941, he was the son of Ernest Flint Tingen and Margaret Clark Tingen. Mr. Tingen was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 8. He was a retired owner/operator of a service station and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Vicky Cundiff Tingen of the home; his mother, Margaret Clark Tingen of South Boston; 2 sons, Brent Tingen and wife Ann of Vernon Hill and Stacy Tingen and wife Beth of South Boston; a sister, Catherine T. Whorley and husband Ashby of South Boston; his grandchildren Brandon, Maddie, Ryan, and Chase; a step- grandchild Amanda; and niece, Brigette Wucher. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Flint Tingen. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Gibson conducting the service. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Saturday night from 7 until 8:30 and at other times at the home.
